Norma (Jeannie) Brown

SSS Project Director

Jeannie Brown, a New Orleans native, is excited to serve as Loyola’s first TRIO-SSS Director, with over seven years of TRIO-SSS experience and alumnus of LOYOLA Upward Bound program. Her passion and determination will allow her and staff to creatively assist Loyola students from disadvantaged backgrounds to meet the program’s objectives of retention, good academic standing, and graduate from Loyola while mentoring and providing students with financial wellness. Jeannie believes in the motto of the federal educational outreach program “TRIO Works!” Within her community, Jeannie currently serves as President for the Louisiana Association of College & University Student Personnel Administrators (LACUSPA). Jeannie's service to this state organization is to ensure professionals around the state receive the tools needed to be outstanding within their line of work. Prior to joining the Loyola family Jeannie Brown started her higher education career at Delgado Community College where she has mastered and developed her craft within Student Affairs for over 13 years. Jeannie is a graduate from the University of New Orleans, earning her Masters in Higher Education Administration. Her passion and drive to help students are exceptional and she continues to craft her talent and passion to get students to their desired goals. It’s an honor to be a part of an institution of excellence. Jeannie is a mother of a vibrant 8-year-old son Ethan, aka “Mr. President.”
