Advising Accessibility Student

The accommodations listed below are intended to serve as examples of supports that may be offered to eligible students. During the registration process, an OAE representative will work with you to review the request and determine what may be necessary, as it relates to the condition. Please note that in some cases, while necessary for the condition, a requested accommodation may be considered unreasonable due to a fundamental alteration of specific course or program requirements, and an alternative may be offered.

For more information about our registration process and eligibility, please contact a member of our team or reference our handbook.

BlackBoard Ally

As a student, you will now have access to a range of alternative formats for course materials offering more flexibility for your specific learning needs. Blackboard Ally helps institutions build a more inclusive learning environment and improve the student experience by helping them take clear control of online course content with usability, accessibility, and quality in mind. Blackboard Ally automatically runs all course files uploaded by the instructor through an accessibility checklist that looks for common issues. Each file is compared to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 standards. The instructor then receives the feedback along with step-by-step instructions on how to fix the identified accessibility issues, all within the context of the learning management system.
