Edouard Crago

Mr. Crago earned a BFA/Sculpture and Ceramics from Tulane University, New Orleans and holds a MFA in Sculpture from the University of Notre Dame Du Lac, Notre Dame, IN. He has attended National Science Foundation workshops for Chemistry and Art and Advanced Chemistry and Art.

His areas of art specialization include: sculpture, ceramics, installation and performance art with additional experience in glass and printmaking. His research interests in materials and techniques used in ceramics and sculpture include but are not limited to glaze formulation and foundry casting procedures. He also has comprehensive experience in classical mold making and casting technologies, as well modern materials and technologies (rubber molding etc.).

He is presently an Adjunct Instructor of Chemistry at Loyola University New Orleans where he teaches Chemistry and Art (Honors and non-honors) and the Health Professions Seminar.

He has previously served as an Instructor of Metal Foundry and a Teaching Assistant of 3D Foundations at the University of Notre Dame Du Lac. He has served as a Ceramics Instructor at St. Martin’s Episcopal School Summer Camp, Metairie, LA. and an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant of Sculpture Foundations at Tulane University.

Some of his awards include:
Top Merit Award -Tulane University 2002 Juried Art Show
2002 Juanita Gonzales Prize in Ceramics (awarded to outstanding undergraduate).

He is a member of the College Art Association (CAA), Alpha Sigma Lambda Honor Society - Tulane University Chapter and National Society of Collegiate Scholars-Tulane University Chapter

He has been involved with the Greater New Orleans Regional Science & Engineering Fair for many years as a Regional, State and International Science Fair student winner and serving as Grand Award Sweepstakes Judge in 2010.
