The Career Development Center offers one-on-one career coaching appointments 9:00AM - 4:00PM Monday-Friday.
You may schedule an appointment with a career coach through Handshake, or by emailing career@loyno.edu with your name, CWID, major, class standing, cell #, appointment topic, and several preferred dates and times. If you choose the latter option, a career coach will be in touch to schedule an appointment within 48 hours.
Coaches & Online Scheduling
Career coaches work according to a liaison model in order to specialize in particular industries and fields. This means you are assigned to a career coach based on your major. However, students are free to schedule an appointment with any coach based on preference. Career coaches and liaison areas are listed below. Students in the College of Business are encouraged to consult with their Portfolio advisor, however they may schedule appointments at the Career Development Center as necessary.
Appointment Days and Hours
Career coaches are available for individual appointments with students and alumni 9:00AM - 4:00PM Monday - Friday. To schedule an appointment, students can click here. Note, we have transitioning all appointments to online modalities. Students and alumni will default to a video call appointment, but will have the option of requesting a phone call appointment. Your respective career coach's Zoom link will be provided via the appointment confirmation email sent by Handshake. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to your career coach via email.
If you cannot meet during normal office hours, please email your career coach (or career@loyno.edu) to request an after-hours appointment. With advanced notice, we can accomodate after-hours appointments if you are unavailable during regular business hours.
Walk-in Hours
Virtual Walk-In hours will resume in August when the Fall 2021 Semester is back in session.
During the Virtual Walk-In hours, you can gain access to a career coach through Zoom by following this link. After following the link, you’ll find yourself in the virtual Waiting Room. Our career staff will be monitoring the Waiting Room and start your appointment soon after your arrival. Walk-in hours are 15 minute appointments for quick resume or cover letter reviews. No appointment is needed!
Resume and Cover Letter Drop-Off Service
The Career Development Center is happy to provide resume and cover letter reviews and edits through our Resume and Cover Letter Drop-Off Service. Simply follow the link below, fill out the form, upload your resume and/or cover letter in a Word .doc (and not a template), and receive revisions in 2-3 business days. This service is available to currently enrolled students and alumni within one year of their graduation date from Loyola University New Orleans.
